Payroll Specialist - Barcelona - HybridTeamAs a member of the payroll team, you will deal with all with employees and managers daily. Across easyJet's diverse bases in the UK, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Portugal, and Spain, your central role will be managing the day-to-day payroll processes for your assigned countries and/or bases. This exciting responsibility includes liaising with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders.What you'll be doingIn this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the delivery of a timely, accurate, and compliant payroll service, with a meticulous focus on aligning all entries with the agreed legislation of the respective country. Your responsibilities encompass supporting the smooth operation of payroll processes by providing exceptional transaction processing through back-office interventions for the numerous systems feeding into the payroll. The work is rule-based and structured around an established Payroll Calendar, underpinned by detailed processes, procedures, and templates. Your role requires thorough knowledge of these processes, procedures, and templates, with an emphasis on executing them with excellence and efficiency and maintaining a right-first-time mentality. The ability to be flexible and operate across a diverse range of processes and procedures is a key aspect of this dynamic position.You'll ensure timely closure of CRM cases and conduct root cause analyses. Working across the People Services Team, you'll drive consistency in SLAs and quality across all countries and communities. Responsibilities include swift and precise transaction processing in line with the Payroll Timetable, active management of the monthly issue log, and being the primary contact for 3rd party vendors. You'll self-manage workloads, own end-to-end processes aligned with legislation, and implement robust controls for checks and balances. Additional duties involve accurate reporting, HR System updates for one-time payments, on and off-system peer checks, trial stage payroll checks, crew variable pay reconciliation and production of Gross to Net reconciliation for payroll sign off. Actively participating in process and system changes, ensuring local compliance, and collaborating with base management teams are integral to the role. Escalating issues to the Head of Payroll, reviewing Knowledge Management System documents, and serving as the first point of contact for employees and managers make your role diverse and pivotal in maintaining payroll excellence.QualificationsWhat you’ll need to do the role:In this role, you'll need strong expertise in payroll legislation, processes, and policies, applied seamlessly across the easyJet network. Serving as the confident and credible face of Payroll, you'll interact with the business, HR stakeholders, and team members. Your experience in a high-volume, complex payroll environment is essential, paired with a keen numerical aptitude and meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with the HR Business Partnering Model is required, along with excellent IT skills (preferably in Workday, Office, SharePoint, Right Now). Traveling throughout the easyJet network is a must, and your ability to engage professionally and empathetically with employees is crucial.
