Offer DescriptionPosdoctoral Researcher - Immunology UnitRef: 25-121_R_JRAbout the research groupThe Viral Immunotherapy group is integrated within the Immunology Unit, Department of Pathology and Experimental Therapies, from IDIBELL-University of Barcelona at the Bellvitge Campus. The research of the group is focused on developing novel viral immunotherapies against cancer based on vaccinia viruses able to replicate in cancer cells and to elicit a potent immunity against tumors. These viruses are genetically engineered and tested in vitro in tissue cultures and in vivo in mouse tumor models.About the roleThe candidate will be the entrepreneur scientist in a transfer project aimed to bring a candidate virus closer to clinical trials. She/he will need to perform different courses to improve her/his skills and knowledge in transfer. Oncolytic viruses will also be generated by genetic engineering and tested in human and mouse tumor cells in vitro and in mouse tumor models in vivo.Job requirementsProfessional experience
  • Experience in mouse models.
  • Experience in molecular biology/cancer/immunology laboratories will be valued.
Education and training
  • PhD in biological/medical sciences obtained maximum 9 years ago.
  • Updated certificate to work with mouse models.
Technical & soft skills
  • Experience with mouse tumor models will be valued.
  • Verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and teamwork and collaboration.
Languages
  • Good command of the English language
