We are looking for a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to oversee the processing of the company's payroll in Spain, Portugal and Maghreb (Morocco, Algiers and Tunisia), ensuring its correct flow and the interaction with the relevant stakeholders and vendors, the complete capturing of all the relevant incidences affecting personnel administration, salaries payments and deduction of due contributions, overseeing the integrity and fairness of the processes, and ensuring the legal compliance with all the required local regulations.

Consistently drive and deliver high quality Payroll Services within Spain, Portugal and the Maghreb countries to ensure great employee experience and regulatory compliance.
Oversee the correct interaction of the different processes and external vendors involving payroll and employee administration, from the employees' onboarding and contracting, to their eventual leave, with special focus on the recurring payment of salaries and fulfilment of legal obligations on Social Security and personal income taxation.
Detect errors, anticipate to them, address incidences and build lasting relationships with external providers and internal stakeholders within the HR and PPO organization to ensure quality and accuracy of the payroll processes, solving issues as they may arise and come to their knowledge, aiming to ensure the best employee experience.
Collaborate with the new Payroll and Time & Attendance Delivery team for the Europe & Africa region, within the People Partnering Organisation, and uphold the Maersk brand and values and business knowledge within the team.
Who we are looking for
3-5 years of experience running Payroll and performing employee administration duties in Spain
Understanding on Time & Attendance requirements and procedures
Working experience interacting with external vendors of payroll services
Customer-centric and demonstrating ownership of issues - putting employee experience at the centre
Native Spanish speaking and professional knowledge of English, both written and spoken, are mandatory for the successful candidate. French and Portuguese as additional languages would also be a relevant asset.
Low tolerance for delays and deviations
Motivated, team-player nature and organized with attention to detail mindset
Working knowledge of Spanish employment regulations and employee relations will be an asset
Working knowledge of Payroll and/or HR in Portugal or any Maghreb country will be a big plus
SAP and Workday experience will also be an advantage
