Our work in computational fluid dynamics is directly contributing to evaluate and enhance / optimize the design and performance of a wide range of buildings and assets, from high-rise buildings to data centers, stadiums and off-shore structures.The OpportunityThis is your chance to work in a team where you collaborate with experts in the field, working on cutting-edge international projects and developing skills across a wide range of CFD simulations (aerodynamic, thermal, multiphase, smoke dispersion/fire cases, etc.). You will also have the opportunity to participate in internal research and development projects (Invest in Arup), for example, to develop new CFD methodologies and tools.As a CFD Consultant at Arup, you will:Get involved in CFD simulations for a wide variety of projects, carrying out multiple activities such as:
  • Calculation of wind loads acting on building or infrastructure components.
  • Fire and smoke dispersion simulations using FDS.
  • Thermal and wind-related comfort analyses.
  • Evaluation of ventilation systems in buildings.
  • Work with wind maps in urban environments.
  • Analysis of dispersion of pollutants or flammable or toxic gases.
Does this role inspire you?We are looking for someone that is interested in developing their skills in the field of modelling with CFD. Ideally, you’ll bring:
  • At least 3 years of work experience in CFD simulations.
  • Knowledge of OpenFoam CFD software.
  • Knowledge of Pyrosim software and/or FDS simulations.
  • Programming knowledge in Python.
  • Experience in the use of 3D modelling tools (Rhino, AutoCAD 3D, etc.).
  • High level of spoken and written English and Spanish.
Bonus points:
  • Knowledge about the use of Linux servers.
  • Programming skills in C++.
