By choosing a career with us, you can expect a challenging and fulfilling role surrounded by people who are passionate and have brilliant ideas about sustainable technology, innovation and making the world a better place.What You'll do (the role)SummaryThe Summer Intern will support the Regulatory Manager in the assessment of grid regulation in European countries, to ensure that our projects comply with the requirements established in the grid code and applicable laws. You will experience first-hand the responsibilities tied to working with one of the world's largest and most respected solar power developers. You will learn the processes that guide our day-to-day activities and how we interface with our internal and external stakeholders.Task/Learning Opportunities
  • Support the ongoing processes of the department, preparing reports regarding grid connection procedures in European countries where Lightsource bp is present.
  • Work on a summer-long project designed to enrich the intern's understanding of the solar development space while providing lasting value to the business.
  • Be aware of the technologies involved in the design of PV plants (inverters, storage, PPC…) and their capabilities, to determine if the demands stablished in the grid code can be achieved.
  • Maintain departmental procedures to support grid interconnection application, grid connection procedures and grid connection assessment.
  • Present their project findings to senior leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Actively participate in mentor and team activities.
Who we're looking forQualifications
  • Currently pursuing or recently obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college/University in Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field.
Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft office tools.
  • English, other European languages valued.
  • Ability to summarise and communicate technical concepts. Knowledge about use of specific software for this purpose such as Power BI or Prezi will be considered.
