- Analyze financial and operational performance and manage ongoing cost control.
- Ensure strong internal control environment.
- Identify financial risks and propose and implement solutions to mitigate these risks.
- Ensure that the planning, budgeting and forecasting process complies with overall financial policies and procedures to support the achievement of strategic targets.
- Manage the mid-term planning and yearly budget process in conjunction with line management.
- Assist line management and CEO Iberia in the preparation of operating budgets and monthly reviews.
- Drive financial and operational performance and initiate corrective measures to achieve profitability targets.
- Support decision-making process of all relevant line functions with financial advice & expertise.
- Responsible for accurate, transparent, relevant and timely management reporting to sub-regional and regional management, including financial (CREST) and operational data.
- Prepare variance analysis and narratives in order to alert management on financial issues, trends and opportunities.
- Manage cost modelling process, to ensure production of accurate, logical, standard costs.
- Manage profitability analysis (by product, customer, lane etc.).
- Support line management by providing an overview of business priorities derived from financial analysis at BU-, Branch- Product- Lane- or Customer level.
- Coordinate budgets for all major projects including integration projects.
- Build up efficient project monitoring tools to ensure delivery of planned results.
- Ensure fulfilment of any IFRS/ statutory/ legal requirements.
- Drive improvement in working capital management.
- In conjunction with corporate tax and utilizing internal or external country tax expertise, ensure optimal tax position for the business.
- Maintain optimum cash levels, whilst minimizing exposure.
- Evaluate and prepare investment proposals according to DP DHL and DGF guidelines (i.e. Real Estate)
- Ensure compliance with fiscal controls and with the guidelines from external auditors.
- Provide financial perspective/ expertise in business negotiations with customers or suppliers.
- Country Compliance Officer: Act as point-of-contact in organization for employees to report potential cases of non-compliance or seek advice in cases, where non-compliance could arise.
- Facilitate internal training to employees (Compliance, finance…).
- Ensure compliance with legal and corporate policies (incl. fraud, bribery etc.), procedures and standards at country level.
- Ensure adherence to internal authorization levels and other local guidelines.
- Lead, recruit, train and organize development of a motivated finance & controlling team.
- Evaluate the staff performance of direct reports and ensure that the same is done for the other members of the team.
- Be responsible for applying and following the policies, procedures and processes defined in the Integrated Management System.
- Relevant university degree, professional accounting qualification or equivalent (MBA, audit qualification).
- Demonstrated and relevant experience in finance & controlling functions, accompanied by experience at senior level in the Logistics Industry.
- Preferred: minimum of 5 years of experience as CFO or Finance Director with P&L responsibility.
- Knowledge in international accounting standards (IAS, IFRS)
- Knowledge in statutory accounting
- Leadership, people management. Experience managing large and remote finance teams.

- Language skills: Fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese is an advantage
