- Ensures that the formula, policies and methods are implemented correctly
- Works closely with the Area Managers and several central departments, including; Real Estate, Operations, Logistics, Buying and Human Resources
- Responsible for an excellent operation. Ensures that all stores comply with the following
- standards:
- Maintaining the focus areas
- Excellent stocked and clean stores in which process are being followed
- Opening of new stores without having to make any concessions on quality
- Ensuring that targets are reached
- Ensures that leadership throughout the organization is in line with the Company values and competencies
- Responsible for correct use of the respectable HR instruments such as; recruitment, training, coaching and absence management
- Strategy/Policy
- Provides input on the sales formula and policy from both local and country perspective
- Monitors competition and, if necessary, makes recommendations for actions to be taken
- People Management
- Steers the team towards the growth of the organization and pro-actively looks ahead whilst taking appropriate measures when needed
- Gives direct and constructive feedback about the delivered performance and personal developments related to future requirements and priorities
- Stimulates employees to join in on the thought process and to actively contribute to the development of new ideas and to learn from his/her own experiences and those of others
- Creates a work environment in which employees are continuously stimulated to develop themselves and to improve their performance
- Acts as a mentor or coach with the objective to develop the skills and competences of the employee
- Responsible for an optimal staffing, recruitment activities and retaining of employees within the department

- Prepares annual plans and controls during the year and ensures the operational objectives
- Sets up prognoses on several important KPI's (e.g. turnover and total wages) and analyses these results on shop-, regional- and country level
- University degree in Business Management or similar
- 5-10 years of professional experience in a leading role with responsibility for P&L as (Country)
- Sales Manager/Director in the retail discount sector
- Excellent specialised expertise in the field of setting up and managing a growing, structured organisation in a similar field
