BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Civil Engineering/Economics/Business
- 10+ years' work experience delivering water infrastructure and engineering solutions for capital-intensive projects across diversified industries.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and equipment specifications and able to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/scalable implementation.
- Strong analytical and commercial skill set to review utility tariffs, water projects and contracts.DESCRIPTION**This position can be based in Madrid or Zaragoza.Amazon has an opening for a Water Infrastructure Manager (WIM) to support scaling and growth across our Data centre network. The WIM drive the development, implementation and construction of new water infrastructure including management of design consultants, contractual drafting, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules.The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of experience in delivery of water infrastructure projects and program management, plus experience managing complex and large-scale water projects.A Bachelor's degree or significant water industry infrastructure delivery experience is required and demonstrated ability to lead others in a technical environment. Successfully delivering aggressive project deliverables while effectively multiple competing and across multiple regions against conflicting priorities is essential. Other requirements include proficiency with MS Office and Project Management Methodologies.Candidate must be comfortable managing remote 3rd project delivery teams from design through to construction, and possess the ability to facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues, and remove barriers to project success. The candidate can multitask and re-prioritize and effectively lead deliveries based on ever changing business needs. This candidate will be a self-starter requiring little guidance, have a 'will get it done attitude' and can make decisions independently.The WIM will be fully competent in project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. - 12+ years of water related project and infrastructure management experience
- Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management. Must be well organised and able to work effectively under time pressure.
- Proven ability to effectively manage project priorities and dependencies is essential
- Ability to prepare investment need/business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to secure water supply and discharges.
- Experience in the water and environmental infrastructure space with construction management and/or program management.
- Understanding of the water and environmental interfaces and sectors and design and delivery experience with multiple telecom construction contractors and vendors.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Project Management Tools
- Experience in liaison with a wide range of regulators and external stakeholders (Water utilities, environmental agencies, health department, construction contractors etc)
- Project management and business case, solution design, design and construction related activities for identified capital water infrastructure projects. This will include the ownership of the project scope, timeline, and budget.
- Build and maintaining overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior leadership to secure finance for project delivery.
- Support continuous process improvement through leading workflow updates, documenting & implementing lessons learned and sharing knowledge across delivery teams to ensure EMEA wide efficiency improvements.
- Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics vs. commitment of your projects.
- Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulation are complied with.
- Create detailed planning packs to build scalable and future proof water infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of water infrastructure construction process across EMEA region.
- Program management, risk mitigation and reporting status reviews to management and internal customers.
- Understand the health and safety requirements and ensure compliance is met within area of responsibility.
- Creation of project scope, business case and infrastructure requirements, develop contract and draft documentation, request for proposals, and capital requests.About the team
