- Minimum 6 years of experience in AAA game production
- Proficient/Expert knowledge in developing with:
- Adobe Substance Designer
- Adobe Substance Painter
- Adobe Photoshop
- Experience with:
- ZBrush
- 3D modeling, baking and texture
- Creating both realistic and stylized materials
- Solid understanding of art fundamentals:
- Lighting
- Composition
- Proportion
- Color theory
- Game constraints
- Nice to have:
- Experience working with in-engine shaders
- Great interpersonal skills in an office-based team environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in an English-speaking environment
- Ease of writing and maintaining vital documentation related to material pipelines & knowledge
- Be able to create autonomously visually stunning textures & materials for physically-based render pipeline
- Work closely with the key contributors to construct, oversee and maintain the material library
- Work with Engineering and Material Technical Artists to reach scalable performance while still pushing the boundaries of visual quality
- Mentor material artists to improve authored texture and material quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Lead Material Artist & other stakeholders to establish / improve the look, the tone and the proper pipelines for/of materials
- Create and maintain collaboration bridges with other teams in order to keep a cohesive material usage across the project
- Be able to interpret concepts and proactively propose new materials that adhere to the project's established visual language and detail
