This company is committed to providing clean, connected, and accessible energy for homes and businesses across the globe.About the roleWe are looking for a Strategic Project Buyer, responsible for managing the procurement processes within the New Product Development (NPD) area. As a main responsibility, you will help develop new products from initial concept through to market launch. This role requires driving strategic procurement initiatives, evaluating and managing suppliers, building strong stakeholder relationships, and supporting contract management processes.Your work will directly contribute to the success of new product launches, ensuring the right suppliers, costs, and quality are secured, while embedding best procurement practices across the organisation.What you’ll make happen:
  • Procurement strategy development & execution: Contribute to project sourcing strategies, ensure alignment with procurement policies, identify stakeholder requirements, and support project execution plans.
  • Supply base management: Optimise the supply base through market analysis, supplier evaluation, cost modelling, and continuous performance monitoring. Introduce new suppliers where needed and maintain strong relationships with existing ones.
  • Operational procurement: Negotiate and manage contracts, ensure timely delivery of goods and services, follow up on outstanding orders, and resolve supplier issues.
  • Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with end users and project teams to translate requirements into sourcing actions, ensuring high quality and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Governance & compliance: Uphold purchasing ethics, enforce procurement procedures, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Leadership support: Guide buying assistants, coach and motivate local teams, support training initiatives, and help prepare for product launches.
Your impact will be evident in optimized costs, improved supplier performance, effective risk management, and the successful launch of innovative products.What we’re looking for:
  • Relevant experience in operational buying with a strong understanding of advanced procurement methods and techniques.
  • Between 3 to 5 years of experience as a Project Buyer.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in analysing data and building cost models (should-cost, total cost of ownership).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions.
