- Working actively in the global automation working group to define global standards and collaborate with teams from other regions to share best practices (processes control strategy, automation and instruments strategy, wired and wireless networks strategy, advances control proposals, advances sensoring proposals, etc).
- Work closely with local site automation engineers. Implement the OT global standards regionally.
- Management of activities related to OT in the region (assessments, mapping gaps, project implementations and status reporting, timeline definitions, risk evaluation, etc).
- Management of the execution of the necessary maintenance, upgrades, and new projects with the operating units. Identify, development and follow local and regional vendors and integrators performance to support implementation process.
- Work together with IT in infrastructure and architecture of networks, aiming at the segregation between IT and OT networks following OT global standards and security policies.
- Integration and data communication between the diverse layers of the network, following applicable cybersecurity protocols.
- Explore and implementing new ways to automate systems. Design and testing automation equipment and processes. Program new automated components.
- Identify quality issues, gaps and writing reports, eliminate defects and errors in products and software utilization Interaction with process historians, enabling communications and data for deeper analysis.
- Interaction with different communication protocols (Profibus, OPC UA and DA, Profinet, Ethernet, DeviceNet, etc.). Interface with several corporate and local areas, preparation of technical documents, presentations, and reports.
- Prepare and/or review equipment EIA standards/specifications/data sheets and related construction bid packages. Assure system and product quality by defining acceptance requirements. Prepare and/or review and monitor controls on scheduling and project costs.
- Knowledge Tools: Microsoft Office package, EPLAN, AutoCAD.
- Soft skills: storytelling, curious, resilient, organized, urgent census and prioritization of demands.
- Strong analytical skills. Excited about trying new solutions.
- Demonstrated project control experience including the ability to control scope, cost, and schedule on all assigned projects. Experience with Microsoft Project or related software a plus.
- Experience developing logic diagrams, one-line diagrams, panel/hardware design, and operator interface functional outputs. Prior experience developing standards, specifications, and data sheets related to EIA deliverables including power distribution, instrumentation and automation, and PLC integration required. Design and installation experience with PLC and/or DCS systems required.
- Strong knowledge of Hazardous Location rating assessments. Knowledge in NFPA 36 and 61 are a plus along with working knowledge of LOPA and HAZOP.
- Experience in implementing Industry 4.0 projects during the last years is a plus.
- Knowledge in OsiSoft Pi or similar software to implement Industry 4.0 will be highly considered.
- Background: Engineering, Automation, Computer Science or similars.
- Advanced English (and local regional language if applies).
