- Develop, implement, and maintain global privacy strategy, policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.
- Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders on privacy-related matters, including product development, marketing initiatives, and vendor relationships.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and HR, to integrate privacy best practices into business and internal operations and product development processes.
- Strongly collaborate with the Infosec team to implement policies that ensure data security prevention and to respond to incidents and being the main POC / PMO for Legal.
- Stay abreast of emerging privacy trends, regulations, and enforcement actions to ensure proactive compliance and risk management.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy matters, providing training and awareness programs to employees on privacy policies and procedures.
- Serve as the main POC / PMO for the team responding to data subject requests, inquiries, and incidents in a timely and compliant manner.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and industry groups on privacy-related matters as needed.
- Conduct periodic audits and assessments to monitor compliance with privacy policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with the Commercial team to draft, review, negotiate, and advise on commercial agreements, and specifically on DPA and other privacy related documents.
- Qualification as Spanish lawyer
- 5+ years of combined relevant legal experience in Privacy matters in a law firm and an in-house legal department with a technology company, with demonstrable experience handling a wide range of complex Privacy matters, including those listed under Responsibilities above.
- Experience in analyzing privacy requirements and implementing privacy policies according to business needs, including familiarity with online advertising regulations and requirements
- Experience negotiating and drafting routine and specialized contracts with third party technology and IT service providers and consultants, including identifying and addressing data security, privacy and intellectual property issues in a commercial context
- Broad legal knowledge to spot and resolve a variety of legal issues across multiple jurisdictions and experience creatively solving problems, taking into account legal risk and business needs
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment; similarly, be self-motivated, have strong organizational skills and be detailed-oriented
- Strong and effective document drafting skills with excellent oral and written communication skills both in Spanish and English
- Experience managing teams is a plus
- Privacy project management skills is a plus
- Fluency in a foreign language is a plus!
