And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our .Job DescriptionAs a PLC Software & Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for developing unique PLC software for advanced vision system solutions. These solutions will be used to inspect Chep's products and will involve integration with a PC or server and communication with PLC devices. Additionally, you will also be responsible for improving and standardizing the programming process for PLC code in all existing and new designs. As a member of the Global Automation Inspection team, you will be involved in the entire development process for new technologies, from the evaluation and design stages to integration and site support.Major/Key Accountabilities
  • Manage software development associated with existing PC/Server based applications for CHEP platform inspection and next generation technologies.
  • Develop GUI applications to interface with cameras, integrate with existing software and communicate with PLC.
  • Facilitate and lead data gathering efforts and support testing during validation process.
  • Manages procurement and installation of hardware equipment for applications.
  • Collaborates with regional Operations and Quality Teams on needs assessment and technology availability.
  • Manages first implementation of new software technology within the service centers.
  • Collaborates with Global Process Engineering for new software technology implementation.
  • Collaborates with Global IT Infrastructure team for IT hardware procurement and IT processes.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years PLC programming experience with Rockwell PLCs (SLC 500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix).
  • Successful delivery of software applications to internal or external customers.
  • Experience in SQL Server 2008/2012 databases.
  • Experience in development of computer vision desired.
  • Strong project management capabilities including vendor managements, task tracking, timeline management, qualification planning.
  • Experience working in a global or multinational environment, with exposure to diverse cultures and business practices.
  • Familiar with project management methods and tools such as MS Project.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
  • High level of PLC programming experience for Rockwell PLCs.
  • Ability to operate with little supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and process focus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • System development and configuration in AVEVA (Wonderware) System Platform or InTouch desired.
  • Availability for travel.
