Industry: Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Medical DevicesWe are seeking an entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to Prospect Biotech to co-lead the company alongside the Founding CTO, combining deep scientific insight with strong business execution. The CEO will be responsible for driving business development, fundraising, and the go-to-market strategy. Working in close partnership, the CEO and CTO will shape and execute the overall strategic vision, translating cutting-edge research into a scalable and impactful commercial solution.ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for exceptional Founder & CEO who will be responsible for:
- Define and lead the company’s vision and long-term strategy in collaboration with the Board and founding CTO.
- Design and execute the go-to-market plan, including customer acquisition and industrial partnerships.
- Define the commercial strategy, including potential device + SaaS business models and international scaling opportunities.
- Lead business development efforts to position Prospect as a key player in the biotech ecosystem.
- Manage operations, financials, and performance metrics to ensure sustainable growth and impact.
- Lead all financial aspects of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, acting as the financial and legal representative of the company.
- Lead fundraising efforts, including public grants (e.g., Horizon Europe, CDTI, EIC Accelerator), equity financing (VCs, angel investors), and strategic partnerships.
- Act as the face of the company to investors, partners, institutions, and the media.
- Navigate regulatory pathways (CE marking, FDA) and oversee implementation of quality standards (ISO 13485, GMP).
- Build, grow, and inspire a world-class multidisciplinary team.
- 8+ years of leadership experience in biotech, healthtech, or deep-tech startups. Entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
- Proven success in fundraising and investor relations (public and private).
- Experience in launching and scaling international B2B and/or SaaS business models.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills in English and Spanish.
- An entrepreneurship mentality. Ability to think outside the box, to truly imagine and articulate a strategy to unleash the full market potential for the company. A self-starter and leader who assumes the risks and rewards of running an innovative, sustainable operation. We value people who have tried it :)
- Proven ability to manage P&L in regulated and high-stakes environments.
- Technical knowledge in cell bioprocessing, microfluidics, spectroscopy, or machine learning.
- Strong network in pharma, biotech, and CDMO ecosystems.
- Previous involvement in academic spin-offs or tech transfer processes.
