Full Stack Java Developer - EY GDS Spain - HybridThe opportunityJoin our dynamic team to build innovative, end-to-end software solutions using modern Java and front-end technologies.As a member of our team in the EY GDS Spain office in Malaga, you'll have a chance to extend your knowledge & experience by working on interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches. You'll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation.Your key responsibilitiesAs a Full Stack Java Developer, you will be responsible for building robust, scalable applications across the back-end and front-end stack. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable software solutions that align with business goals.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
  • Build and maintain responsive front-end components using Angular and/or React.js
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support data-driven, service-oriented architectures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, UX/UI) to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Identifying and resolving issues in SAP processes, ensuring data consistency and system integrity
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
  • Integrate and optimize applications with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application reliability
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including planning, analysis, design, implementation, and support
  • Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies to enhance application performance and maintainability.
Skills and attributes for successTo succeed in this role, you should bring a solid foundation in full stack development, a proactive mindset, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Java programming with a strong grasp of object-oriented design principles.
  • Practical experience with the Spring ecosystem, particularly Spring Boot for building RESTful services
  • Solid front-end development skills using Angular and/or React.js frameworks.
  • Ability to design, implement, and consume REST APIs, ensuring clean, scalable integrations.
  • Hands-on experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Understanding and application of software design patterns and industry best practices.
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Good organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in developing and integrating RESTful web services and working with relational databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Fluent in English and Italian.
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience in international environments.
