Are you passionate about developing customer relationships that contribute to the overall success of the organization?About our TeamThe Spain Sales Pharma team as part of the Global Pharma Team is responsible for the development of opportunities in Spain enabling Pharma to engage with the community of Health Care Professionals in a way which is compliant with Elsevier's Pharma Governance. It focuses mainly on reprints, Local advertising and digital solutions for medical education, which are financially supported by the pharmaceutical industry. The product portfolio includes advertising, reprints, online educational content and platforms, conference material and STM journal sponsored content.We are looking for an experienced Account Manager located in our Barcelona Office in Spain, Dynamic role within the Spain Sales Global Pharma Team, will work closely with the EMEALA Global Pharma Sales Team, Corporate Markets Division.The Account Manager will be responsible for securing annual sales target for Pharma in Spain through the development of new & existing business from Pharma accounts within all core therapeutic areas. The Account Manager will be responsible for growing sales revenue by an agreed strategy using Elsevier's core assets . Collaboration is key as the Account Manager will work closely with Spain Sales Team to better support the customers that are core to our business.AMs are responsible for establishing and maintaining customer relationships and leveraging internal and external resources to drive growth.Main activities will include but not only:Business Development, Sales and Account Management (60%):
  • Identify growth opportunities and sales opportunities for the territory and targeted accounts
  • Identify and develop new Pharma accounts in the Barcelona Area, whilst supporting existing accounts.
  • Create and develop account plans to acquire new customers and business to maximize potential for Global Pharma in Spain.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of customer requirements and endeavor to find solutions to meet their needs
  • Develop and maintain strong productive customer relationships and keep customers informed of new relevant products and services
  • Work together with product and marketing identifying opportunities to be sponsored by Pharma.
  • Drive the consultative sales process, and effectively engage and incorporate other resources to optimize collaboration and customer service to grow customer loyalty and satisfaction
Product, Market and Business Knowledge (20%)
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry regulations in Spain and EMEA, and of the medical profession educational needs.
  • Show willingness to stay abreast of developments and trends in the market and plan sales activities accordingly.
  • The role requires keeping abreast of developments in the allocated therapy areas, as well as new technologies within Spain and EMEA markets and legislative changes in these markets.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of customers' critical business issues to build a compelling solution that addresses these issues and maximizes revenue potential
Communication and Liaison with Colleagues (10%)
  • Ability to communicate, present and negotiate at all levels including sales director level
  • Liaise regularly with colleagues in internal departments, providing detailed reports and feedback as required
  • Champion your key accounts and lead Account teams with peers , in order to identify cross regional business opportunities
Time management , planning and Organisation (10%)
  • Manage time efficiently and plan sales activities in order to maximize effectiveness in the field
  • Make appropriate use of all sales and marketing resources
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform and implement long term planning and a flexibility to adapt according to business needs
  • Manage customer contacts and establish frequent contact with customers by email, phone, at place of business and industry events
  • Establish and monitor sales priorities, targets and objectives in the context of the overall corporate sales strategy
  • Prepare standard and complex proposals/agreements according to policy and Pharma governance. Maintain 100% compliance to all sales activities.
Responsibilities:Possess extensive expertise in sales and account management.Have a track record of exceeding sales targets and KPIs.Have experience managing large, complex accounts and navigating organizational structures.Proven solid sales experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and/or Healthcare Industry (Agencies, Life Science experience) - servicing the Pharmaceutical Sector.Requirements:MSc in Business, Communications, Pharmaceutical and/or Life Sciences related fields and experience3+ years customer facing experience in Pharmaceutical industryExperience in using pharma related database or toolsAble to work as part of a team, accomplishing mutual team goalsStrong organizational, time management and self-learning abilityTravel as requiredWork in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
