Sustainable Logistics Program LeadDescription -Description:HP is an industry leader in sustainability and has announced ambitious goals to address Climate, Human Rights, and the Digital Divide. In addition to HP’s mission of innovating new and reinventing existing technologies that make life better for everyone, everywhere, HP aims to be Net Zero by 2040, with interim carbon reduction goals by 2030. We are expanding our Climate Team to advance these goals in the area of logistics.This position reports into the Climate Director and is focused on working with our logistics partners to drive sustainability initiatives to meet our ambitious climate goals. In this position, you will use your expertise in logistics sustainability to drive the development of HP’s logistics climate strategy with the goal of meeting our ambitious carbon reduction goals, as well as meeting our market access, regulatory and reporting requirements.At the specialist level, this individual shall be able to solve problems of diverse complexity and scope, handle most unique situations and exercise independent judgment, and act as a project leader providing direction to team activities and the team decision making process.Responsibilities:
  • Program manage HP’s logistics sustainability program (e.g., strategy development, R&Rs, present progress on environmental targets and project milestones to management).
  • Drive HP’s carbon reduction goals for logistics.
  • Assure compliance with any market access, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all logistics sustainability data, reporting and metrics, including monitoring progress towards goals.
  • Develop goals for HP’s logistics partners based on market access, regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Communicate directly with HP’s logistics partners to track and provide advice to improve performance.
  • Manage HP’s external collaborations (e.g., SmartWay, GLEC) and serve as Climate Team liaison to HP’s internal logistics organizations.
  • Develop communications materials (e.g., trainings, contract language, FAQs) and respond to customer and internal inquiries.
  • Partner with the Climate Team’s carbon footprinting experts to include logistics carbon reduction opportunities into our carbon assessment tools.
  • Provide expertise to HP on logistics topics (e.g., biofuels, logistics market, future requirements).
  • Partner with the Climate Team’s supply chain experts to execute climate change and net-zero projects by managing key supplier relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to support continual improvement of logistics climate-related projects and programs.
Education and Experience Required:
  • First level university degree; may have advanced university degree.
  • Prior experience in carbon footprinting, logistics sustainability, and program management.
  • Ideally, 4+ years in a logistics and supplier management function.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Expertise in logistics, supply chain and carbon assessment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and high-level modeling tools.
  • Very strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; mastery in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, often-changing environment, self-motivated, ability to learn quickly and work nimbly and to tight deadlines.
