- Design and development of advanced electro-optical (EO/IR) systems and subsystems, with a focus on infrared (IR) sensors for defense applications
- Conduct detailed optical simulations and performance analyses using industry-standard tools (e.g., CODE V, ZEMAX)
- Perform system integration of EO/IR components into larger platforms, ensuring functional and environmental compatibility
- Lead and support lab-based testing and validation of optical prototypes, including sensor alignment and performance verification
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, and software) for system-level design optimization
- Provide technical guidance during production, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of optical issues
- Keep abreast of technological trends in electro-optics and contribute to the continuous improvement of design methodologies
- Create and review technical documentation, specifications, and reports to support development, testing, and certification
- You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- You have 5+ years of experience in EO/IR system design, preferably within defense or high-tech industrial sectors
- You possess strong knowledge of optical engineering fundamentals, including imaging systems, sensors, optics, photonics, and laser technologies
- You have excellent communication skills with working proficiency in Spanish (C1) and at least English (B2)
- Expertise in optical design software (e.g., CODE V, ZEMAX)
- Experience with simulation software such as Matlab and Python
- Skilled in CAD tools such as Solid Edge or Siemens NX
- Demonstrated experience integrating EO/IR systems into embedded platforms
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and tolerancing of optical components
- Proven hands-on experience with optical testing setups, sensor alignment, and prototype validation
- Prior experience designing infrared sensors specifically for defense applications
- Knowledge of optical communication systems, spectral filtering, and optomechanical coupling
- Optical Design: CODE V, ZEMAX
