- To provide customer, supplier and operational support on a daily basis regarding quality concerns and planning relative to the product in order to promote and maintain quality standards at the predetermined customer and corporate requirements.
- Must be a customer focused, commercially oriented leader who can demonstrate excellent knowledge quality control processes and systems.
- Good communicator capable of operating well under pressure.
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements, initiatives and practices through promotion and consistent operation of controls in execution of daily responsibilities.
- Coordinate the receipt, response and monitoring of AIMS reports from the customer ensuring containment action is taken and root cause analysis and permanent long term actions are implemented.
- Provide technical support to production staff in order for them to be able to produce efficiently and to the correct quality requirements.
- Provide plant and customer with all necessary documentation and participate in full Lear corporate and customer requirements e.g. IATF 16949, ANPQP, PPAP, FMEA and Lear quality reporting systems.
- Ensure that all quality related documentation is completed accurately and on time in accordance with predetermined requirements.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external measurable in the form of MOS charts e.g. RPPMs, DPPMs etc for evaluation and tracking of quality performance.
- Conduct the training and induction of new starters into the Quality department in order to ensure all staff are properly trained and inducted.
- Ensure that all operation personnel are fully aware of internal and external quality standards and concerns on an ongoing basis to assist in ensuring quality standards are maintained.
- Communicate and coordinate, via MOS charts and 8D’s quality information amongst all internal departments in order to ensure compliance.
- Continually consider and propose, where appropriate, new methods of implementing and controlling quality standards in order to continuously improve the quality performance of the company.
- Provide support in the preparation and maintenance of documentation and systems in order to comply with TS 16949. Ensure no major or minor non-conformances.
- Coordinate, maintain and interpret statistical information issued by suppliers and contractors in order to comply with customer requirements and ensure customer specifications are adhered to.
- Ensure that product inspection procedures, reports and documentation are accurately and timely completed in order that each product has complete traceability.
- Ensure FMEA and control plan are regularly reviewed and updated when 8D’s, any product/process changes or quality concerns arise (e.g. FCPA) whilst informing all relevant personnel of changes.
- When required, organise the Quality Technicians on a day to day basis – to include operational /shift based technicians along with those based at customer premises, ensuring that all aspects of Technician’s functions are completed in a timely manner.
- Work as a team member to maintain the team work philosophy within Lear.
- Stop production if necessary to correct dysfunctions in quality
- Conduct internal audits, report findings and ensure the implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
- Issue supplier Quality Notices and ensure robust containment is implemented. Coordinate SQTS response to “submitted for closure” status. Carry out weekly supplier MOS updates.

- ISO 14001 Certification
- 2 years work experience Quality/ Manufacturing Environment (Engineering, Quality), or automotive experience.
- Demonstrate competence in modern tools and methodologies.
- 8D solving problems skills.
