Position: Physics TeacherLocation: TenerifeSalary: Competitive (contact to discuss)Contract Type: Permanent, full-timeStart Date: September 2024About the roleVision for Education are proud to be working in partnership with a British International School in Tenerife to recruit a Teacher of Physics for a permanent position. We welcome applications from teachers who are able to teach the UK Physics curriculum across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-Level.The main purpose of the role is to provide high quality teaching and learning to learners aged 11 to 18. The successful candidate will be joining a welcoming department of 5 teachers that includes a Biologist and Chemist specialist and replacing the Physics specialist who is retiring.You will carry out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with the school's policies under the direction of the Head of Department. The successful candidate will be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge and takes responsibility for the wellbeing, teaching and learning of students.Responsibilities of this Teacher of Physics role include:
  • To manage student learning through effective teaching in accordance with the Curriculum Area’s schemes of work
  • To assess students’ work regularly and use the results to inform effective planning, teaching, monitoring and progression
  • To use a variety of methods and approaches (including differentiation) to match curricular objectives to the range of student needs
  • To use positive management of behaviour in an environment of mutual respect which allows students to feel safe and secure, and promotes their wellbeing
  • To use the School Reporting procedures and to liaise affectively with parents as necessary
About the schoolThe school caters for 500 students aged 3 to 18 and teaches a UK curriculum.   • Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS (essential)
  • Ability to teach Physics up to A-Level
  • Ability to establish and maintain high quality planning and recording
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet the individual needs of all learners
  • Providing young people with pastoral care
