  • To assist the Principal Telecoms Engineer, Renewals Design Engineer and support the Infrastructure Manager
  • To design, implement and support highly available network architectures, either as a stand alone telecoms solution, or as part of a combined ' System Tramways' architecture (Signalling, ticketing, Data Center, OCC, Network, Telecom).
  • Assisting and advising the business by developing guidelines on the usage of complex systems and their components.
  • Work as part of a team and individually where required and is expected to be willing and able to work on any Telecoms element on any project as may be applicable
  • Liaise with Telecoms Technicians and Design, Install and Test staff, and additional collaboration with Signaling Design, Installation and Project Engineering Management is fundamental to the efficient operation of the Telecoms function
  • Understanding of operation system tramway and how these integrate with the Network Rail transmission network
  • Organize and manage Cybersecurity activities during Project (contract execution) or Program (internal development).

Main Responsibilities
  • Technical expert responsible for designing and maintenance infrastructure networks
  • Manage interface between Alstom products and external networks
  • Support the tendering process
  • Manage, design, install, and test hardware and software in support of Alstom products
  • Assist in developing networking solutions for new integrations from renewals
  • Undertake site surveys.
  • Effectively maintain supplier relationships.
  • Good knowledge and awareness of EHS regulations.
  • Identify variations/changes to contract and asses impact on cost, programme and workload.
  • Checking / Verification of designs including non-telecoms discipline designs.
  • Assist in the production / checking of test plans and testing specifications.
  • Attendance at meetings with clients, senior management, sub-contractors and internal project team.
  • To ensure delegated areas of the contract are completed to meet legislation and relevant standards.
  • Effectively communicate contract requirements to staff and sub-contractors.
  • Motivate staff and sub-contractors.
  • Review all relevant documentation.
  • Assist when required, during installation, testing and commissioning phases of a project.
  • Understanding of appropriate legislation
  • Significant experience in managing network architectures and deployment
  • Advanced level knowledge of routing and switching
  • Knowledge of working with firewalling technologies
  • Confident communication and customer liaison skills

  • Analyze Project / Program security needs (including laws and local regulations), determine security objectives and main security risks strategy
  • Plan security activities within development life cycle, estimate costs and duration, their impacts related to project program execution, Identify training needs
  • Is responsible for Cost / Quality / Delay of Project/Program Cybersecurity deliverables, as needed per Project / program context :
  • Cybersecurity context, and Cybersecurity Risk Analysis
  • Cybersecurity Architecture definition and requirement allocation
  • Cascading of requirement to suppliers, Manage Third Parties Risks,
  • Application of Cybersecurity Assurance Level
  • Definition of Cybersecurity Operating Procedures
  • Evaluation of the Project/Program achieved Cybersecurity level
  • Provide support during technical design meetings for cybersecurity activities
  • Obtain agreement from Project/Program/Customer about on the set of security measures to be implemented
  • Manage vulnerabilities and Cybersecurity issues and actions plan,
  • Manage Program / Project Cybersecurity related communication,
  • Report on Program / Project Cybersecurity status
  • In case of external Cybersecurity audit, manage the relationship with auditors Establish lessons learned
  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

Main Required CompetencesEducational Requirements:Mandatory: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology educated within a relevant technical field or equivalent or Bachelor Degree in Telematics EngineeringDesirable:
  • Degree educated within a relevant technical field
  • Cisco Certified Inter-networking Expert (CCIE)
  • CCNA / CCNP accreditation
  • Microsoft PBI
  • Cybersecurity certification such as: GICSP, CISSP, GSEC, CISM
Experience:Mandatory:
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP based networks and networking protocols
  • Extensive accomplishment and experience in managing network architectures and deployment
  • Advanced level knowledge of routing and switching
  • Experience of WAN circuits and solutions (eg MPLS / VPN's)
  • Knowledge of working with firewalling technologies
  • Knowledge of 'Application Delivery Controllers'
  • Proficient knowledge of networking design
  • Cloud based solutions
  • Understanding of European standards.
  • Awareness of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
  • Experience related to Cybersecurity in general, deployment experience of security technologies.
