This role ensures that the company’s Solar & BESS projects benefit from world-class procurement practices, ensuring efficiency and scalability.Job Description:Core Responsibilities:Strategy & Management: Lead and develop the Solar & BESS procurement team with an emphasis on establishing an efficient procurement strategy/plan on a global and project/cluster level. Create diverse supply chain avenues for acquiring equipment, services, and technologies necessary for asset development and construction.Procurement Management: Lead and manage the full Solar & BESS procurement cycle from project initiation to completion, including procurement planning; framework/MSA development; sourcing; offer evaluation & recommendation; negotiation; contract award; contract management and contract closing.Vendor Management: Oversee, in conjunction with Procurement Development, the vendor qualification cycle for Solar & BESS procurement, from tendering and selection to contract negotiations, awarding, and subsequent management.Industry Engagement: Foster and maintain dynamic relationships within the Solar & BESS procurement industry and supply chain, staying abreast of pricing trends and emerging best practices.Inter-departmental Coordination: Liaise closely with the Engineering, Grid, Construction, and Project Management departments, providing insights and solutions for any contractor performance discrepancies. This involves ensuring contractual obligations are met and coordinating efforts to enhance overall performance.Contract Management: Lead Solar & BESS procurement contract management, ensuring maximum commercial value is derived from both new and existing agreements.Policies & Systems: Provide input and support to the Head of Growth Procurement and the Procurement Development Lead in reviewing and improving the prevailing procurement processes and to adapt, develop, and implement foremost procurement policies, practices, and systems.Market Intelligence: Oversee, in conjunction with Procurement Development, the development and updating of vendor, price tracking and spending databases for Solar & BESS procurement, including market analysis reports, market product trends, updates and forecasting.Qualities and SkillsThe ideal candidate should:Have a proven track record in procurement, preferably in Solar & BESS Procurement with a strong commercial mindset, excellent negotiation skills, a keen understanding of the industry's dynamics, and the ability to foster and maintain strategic relationships.Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid working relationships and work across functions in a professional environment, as well as building and empowering the Solar & BESS Procurement team.Demonstrate a broader commercial understanding than just price negotiation, with strong financial skills and the ability to analyse different procurement and contract structures to make sound recommendations while being conscious of the broader business imperatives.Pay and benefitsWith a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey.
