Laboratory Technician

• Laboratory science degree, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution (Ciclos formativos de grado superior).
• Proficient in standard biology laboratory techniques, such as laboratory math, pipetting, buffer preparation, etc.
• Relevant molecular skill set consisting of the molecular fundamentals, RNA and DNA extraction from blood, saliva, and other tissue specimens (manual and automated extraction), nucleic acids quantification, PCR, RT-PCR, MLPA techniques and sample library preparation for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
• Experience with NGS (Thermo Fisher and Illumina Platforms) and Fragment Analyzer systems preferred.
• Experience with daily setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supply.
• Demonstrate clear ability to explain experience with specific instrument platforms, including test principle(s), what controls were in place.
• Previous experience with automated liquid handling equipment is a plus.
• Basic understanding of MS Office programs.
• Intermediate in English (written and spoken) strongly preferred.

• Highly organized and strong work ethic.
• Be familiar with all regulatory, quality assurance, quality control, standard operating, and safety procedures to audit-ready standards.
• Good organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and precision in laboratory tasks.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Teamwork - Commitment to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team.
• Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual.
• Dependable, follow instructions, respond to management direction, complete tasks on time or notify appropriate person with an alternate plan.
• Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required.
• Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.
• Willingness to work different shifts is required.
• Rotation might be required for Weekends/Holidays.
