To help make this possible, they know they can depend on the support and training that a company of our scope and scale can provide.Create a new and better world with us.#smartersteels #decarbonizationWe are looking for a Researcher in powder atomization and additive manufacturing to join the Additive Manufacturing Materials team focused on the development and production of new steel solutions using additive manufacturing technologies. You will be directly involved in leading projects and supporting potential clients in custom solutions. You will work in a multidisciplinary team focused on proposing, supporting and developing new ideas, concepts and technologies.Your role
  • You will manage the atomiser pilot plant and you will coordinate the different stakeholders working on the pilot.
  • You will develop steel powders to be used in additive manufacturing and their production process through atomization.
  • You will investigate the key parameters and their impact on the atomization process and the powders properties.
  • You will characterize and assess the final properties of the produced powder in terms of particle size distribution, flowability, aspect ratio, moisture content, chemical composition, density…
  • You will maintain a continuous technology watch on powder production processes, powder quality assessment, wire production, printing and characterization techniques and standards.
  • You will collaborate with in-house digital teams to develop additive manufacturing models.
Your profile
  • You have a Master degree or a PhD in metallurgy or material science.
  • You have a first experience additive manufacturing materials production routes and/or atomization process. Experience in the production of steel powders through atomization would be a nice asset.
  • You have knowledge in Additive Manufacturing processes and materials (powder and wire format), in steel metallurgy, powder metallurgy and end-use properties assessment such as flowability of powder, spreadability, density,….
  • You have experience in design of experiments and samples characterization.
  • Experience in coordinating different stakeholders and subcontractors would be a plus.
  • You have advanced levels in English and Spanish.
