DESCRIPTIONAmazon is hiring a Procurement Manager, Operations, to be based in Barcelona or London.Operations is at the heart of Amazon business. As a member of the EMEA Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS), you will be leading a regional team of procurement professionals, supporting business teams across EU & UK in operations procurement related activities. This includes forecasting, purchasing operations, inventory management, among others, while ensuring adherence to Amazon's global spend policy and compliance.The role will be based in Barcelona or London, with up to 15% traveling to other countries in EU, NA and potentially LATAM.Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of highly qualified procurement professionals.
  • Ensure adherence to Amazon's global spend policy and driving compliance to Procurement policies and procedures.
  • Build effective stakeholder relationships - develop relationships with primary internal customers (local Ops leadership), external suppliers and other teams within respective market.
  • Drive effective delivery of metrics by leading / supporting projects and initiatives; identifying root cause of issues and corrective actions.
  • Assist with the development of new standards, procedures and solutions for the procurement operations.
  • Partner with other procurement leaders and teams on local or regional projects and initiative.
  • Contribute to achievement of Procurement's annual targets, days of cover (optimal inventory levels), forecasting accuracy, supply continuity and savings, among others.
  • Scope roles, recruit and hire according to business needs.
  • Mentor and develop employees for career enhancement and direction.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Regional procurement and/or supply chain management experience (e.g. logistics, inventory turn management, forecasting, purchasing operations)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent post-secondary qualification
  • Managing employees and performance.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (e.g. SLA's management, performance/scorecarding)
  • ERP and procurement tools, including Oracle, Coupa and Ariba
Fluent in both spoken and written English (Common European Framework of Reference C2)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master degree
  • Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management Certifications (e.g. CPIM, CSCMP, CIPS)
  • Experience with cost accounting
  • Lean / Six-Sigma knowledge
