- Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic data engineering in order to improve the organization's productivity as a team
- Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes.
- Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.
- Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
- Ensure timely analysis and testing for regular maintenance of solutions over time
- Accountable for the results of a large and/or moderately complex project(s). Provides input on resource planning and policy development.
- Lead the definition of coding best practices communicates it and build the processes assures its implementation.
- Create a structured, organized, readable and reusable code/analysis using best practices.
- Can revise code and identify gaps and suggest improvements to reach best practices.
- Applies acquired expertise to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent. Identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems; Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Manages operational plans, large projects and/or processes with limited oversight from manager. Leads and/or participates with comparable influence in large projects/initiatives; AND/OR provides leadership to professionals and support. Contributes to short to mid term (1-3 years) talent optimization plans to execute strategies in job area.
- Leads technical discussion across other data Engineer to ensure best practices, approaches and implementation.
- Stakeholders of this role include Data engineers, BSA, MLE, product owners and main business stakeholders.
- Helps train/upskill members of the team in Data engineer Tools/techniques and provides high quality solution(s) to the product owners.
- PhD in STEM field with research experience in Data Science or experience Post graduate degree in STEM field with 3-5 years experience as Lead Data Engineer
- Expertise in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python or Scala preferred)
- Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses in big data solutions
- Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space (preferred)
- Database development experience using Hadoop or BigQuery and experience with a variety of relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies
- Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data.
- Big Data Development experience using Hive, Impala, Spark and familiarity with Kafka (Preferred)
- Proficient in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python or Scala preferred)
- Conceptual understanding of data mesh
- Can help business structure the data solution.
- Develop business awareness of possible use cases
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system (Preferred)
- Exposure to machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
- Passionate about Agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and experimentation
- Experience working on a collaborative Agile product team
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and learning skills
