It supports SAP systems in the whole Zurich Insurance GroupAs a Solution Architect for Cloud Applications, you will play a key role in defining and governing the standards for Zurich's SAP cloud solutions and integrations. Acting as a trusted advisor to both business and IT, you will provide clear technology and process direction to Zurich stakeholders. You will serve as the architectural lead for SAP Cloud solutions and applications (BTP, Business AI, BDC…), supporting SAP systems across the entire Zurich organization.In this role, you will align SAP cloud strategies and roadmaps with Zurich's business needs, ensuring our technology solutions are robust, future-ready, and compliant with industry best practices. You will also be responsible for the technical validation of supplier solutions, making sure they adhere to Zurich's technology standards. Your expertise in SAP Cloud capabilities and your understanding of evolving SAP strategies will enable you to guide the development and integration of SAP cloud solutions, helping Zurich create a brighter, more agile future together.What Can You Expect?As a Solution Architect for Cloud Applications your main responsibilities will involve
  • Define and Govern SAP Cloud Standards
Develop, implement, and maintain architecture standards and best practices for SAP cloud applications and integrations across Zurich. Provide expert guidance to business and IT stakeholders, helping them make informed technology and process decisions that support Zurich's strategy.
  • Align SAP Strategy with Business Needs
Analyse SAP Cloud solutions and SAP BTP product roadmaps and align them with Zurich's current and future business requirements, ensuring solutions are scalable and future-ready.
  • Lead Solution Design for SAP BTP
Design and oversee cloud solutions based on SAP Cloud solutions and/or SAP BTP, ensuring they are robust, secure, and meet Zurich's quality standards. Maintain a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, innovations, and existing designs, and assess their impact and dependencies on the applications involved. * Validate Supplier SolutionsPerform technical assessments and validations of proposed supplier solutions, making sure they comply with Zurich's technology standards and architecture principles.
  • Support SAP System Integrations
Guide the integration of SAP systems within Zurich's technology landscape, ensuring seamless connectivity and interoperability between SAP and non-SAP solutions, across both cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Foster Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing
Promote best practices, share knowledge, and collaborate with other architects, IT teams, and business stakeholders across Zurich.
  • Monitor Technology Trends
Stay up-to-date with developments in SAP Cloud applications and cloud technologies, proactively recommending improvements and innovations for Zurich.The position will work with the development team, functional business analysts, and the business to ensure the overall quality of the technical environment in the SAP landscape.This position will work with and lead internal and external team resources in SAP cross applications related work, establish and ensure adherence to Zurich standards, processes and procedures.Essential Job Functions

  • Deep expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including its architecture, services, and integration capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of SAP cloud solutions and applications, cloud-native design, and multi-system SAP environments
  • Experience with SAP and non-SAP system integration (cloud and on-premise)
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and modern integration technologies (APIs, microservices, etc.)
  • Awareness of security, risk, and compliance requirements for enterprise cloud solutions
Professional Skills
  • Passion for continuous learning and innovation; actively seeks out new technologies, and is eager to experiment and validate ideas by running multiple Proofs of Concept (PoCs)
  • Ability to define and govern architectural standards and technology roadmaps
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical scenarios and recommend effective solutions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate, SAP BTP certifications) are highly desirable
  • 5-10 years of experience in solution design, ideally with a focus on SAP cloud technologies and integrations
  • Demonstrated hands-on involvement in SAP solution implementation, not just theoretical design
  • Experience working in large, complex, and global organizations is an advantage
  • Fluent in English
