We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join Datadog's Software Delivery team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will shape the future of how developers develop, build, test and deploy software using Datadog. You will work at the intersection of CI/CD observability and developer-focused tooling to improve the software delivery lifecycle.In this role, you will design and build scalable systems that give developers and CI platform teams end-to-end visibility into their software delivery pipelines. You'll own projects that make it easier for these users to move fast without sacrificing quality, and contribute to systems used by thousands of engineers every day.The role will also involve using AI agents to help Software Delivery customers fix and optimize their CI/CD processes. This includes tasks such as detecting and troubleshooting CI outages, identifying regressions, and fixing flaky or unreliable tests.You will be at the core of Datadog's mission to empower developers.   • Design and own core systems within the Software Delivery suite, such as build and deployment data ingestion, visibility dashboards, and failure diagnostics.
  • Lead the technical strategy for building and evolving features like test optimization and deployment tracking.
  • Drive the development and integration of AI-based systems that help customers diagnose and resolve CI/CD issues.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure the tools we build are deeply useful, fast, and a joy to use.
  • Mentor engineers across teams by sharing deep technical insights, guiding architecture discussions, and driving adoption of best practices.
Who You Are:
  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience designing and delivering complex, high-scale systems.
  • 4+ years of technical leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving large initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Deep understanding of software delivery pipelines, developer workflows, and developer experience challenges.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems and troubleshooting build/test/deployment failures at scale.
